I dunno... I was just kinda curious, I guess?

Like, I think that company is doing some shady bullshit-- I think everybody does... but it's not the Nulls' fault.

All they know is the inside of a lab.

I guess I just feel like they deserve a chance to see the world as much as anything else.

[Henry stands from his desk, gives a couple of passing words to the Joy at the other side of the desk, and ducks into the back where all the equipment and overnight kennels are. There, he crouches down and aims the 'gear at a pile of fat sleepy baby Nidorans.]}

They just hatched tonight. They don't even know what grass is.

_{[Wow-- she is surprised.]

[In the best way.]

[Her answer comes in a quiet gasp.]}

They're so tiny.

_{[Henry lets out a self-satisfied little chuckle at her reaction.]}

This job might not be easy, but it has its perks.

I guess I never thought about Pokemon hatching in Centers, but not everybody has a breeding setup or just hatches them on the road, huh?

Right. And some days, trainers need to go somewhere on short notice. They'll usually leave a flamebody Pokemon with us and we'll take shifts in walking with them. Sometimes we just end up with a surprise. We haven't kept a Null yet though. They're all so different.

I think there's only five or six Nulls out there, total.

Only a few people have gotten one so far.

_{[She rubs the back of her neck with one hand, patting the now-awkwardly-curled Null at her side.]}

I'm not sure I'd wanna leave Snitter at a Center.

They're kind of... one-person Pokemon.

_{[Henry puffs out another laugh but it's edged with nerves.]}

_{[She snorts a little bit. It's not like she can BLAME him, but on the other hand...]}

_{[Henry says this a little firmly. He knows Heather isn't going to walk in the door and plop Snitter into his lap, but he is...concerned. He wasn't usually the type to attack other men with his teeth and nails. He's just not sure what's going to happen when he's in the same room with this unnatural disco robo dog.]}

Thanks. It's tough enough when Flotsam tries to crawl into my lap. Her shell is so pointy.

Haha, she must be getting big, huh?

_{[She doesn't remember exactly when the Lapras hatched, only that most of the time she's been home over the summer, the most she'd seen of Flotsam had been a lot of happy splashing out in the pool.]}
